About Chris

Chris with Nubby and Scout

I'm a full time artist working in a variety of mediums. I paint in oil and pastel and make jewelry using all kinds of pearls, gemstones and leather. Many of my designs feature my handmade buttons and pendants made of bronze, copper or silver.

I've collected rocks and minerals most of my life and have always been fascinated by their beauty. In recent years, I've become a big fan of pearls - Freshwater, Tahitian and South Sea. The variety is fascinating and I love adding them to my designs.

I have a BA in art from the University of South Florida, but like many artists, I spent most of my working life doing my art "on the side" while I pursued a career in technology. Finally, I am able to devote most of my time to my artwork. I have a beautiful art studio on my property where I work on my paintings, metal clay, mixed media, photography and jewelry making. I occasionally teach classes on metal clay in my studio

I have taken classes at the Art Students League of Denver as well as the Center For the Arts Evergreen, Foothills Art Center and various workshops in Colorado. I'm a member of the The Art Students League of Denver, Oil Painters of America, Pastel Society of Colorado, Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Center for the Arts Evergreen, Evergreen Artists Association and a founding member of Artists With Altitude.
